Round 2 and more

Today at 1:05 pm on the YES Network we will get to witness the 2nd start of Joba Chamberlain. Joba has showed his displeasure for his last start and plans to go deeper into the game and the Yankees are giving him the least to do that by putting his pitch count from 70-80 instead of 62 where it was last time. Hopefully they will play his theme song today.

What a great game Johnny Damon had last night. 6-6 with a double, 5 singles, 4 RBI's, and the game winning hit. With last nights performance he is now hitting .326 and in my mind put him in contention for comeback player of the year. I mean just last year people were calling for his head, but not anymore. Mike Mussina and his 9-4 record have to be up there too.

Game recaps will resume on Wednesday the 11th.

Zach Randolph Rumors

One trade that is making the rounds would involve the Knicks sending Zach Randolph and the rights to the #6 pick to Philadelphia for a smaller contract, such as Reggie Evans and the rights to the #16 pick—after July 1st (when Philadelphia’s cap space kicks in). New York would move into position to have significant cap space in the summer of 2010 (possibly to make a run at LeBron James) by unloading the 17.3 million dollars owed to Randolph in 2010/11, and would still be able to keep David Lee around.

...My 1st reaction as many others is probably NO. I am really not sure if shedding that much salary is really worth dropping down 10 spots in the draft when we need some young talent and the drop off from Zach Randolph to Reggie Evans.

As some people have suggested we shouldn't wait around for LeBron James and hope he signs cause frankly there are many teams who want to do the same. The one idea that really stood out to me was to not wait for LeBron and pull a Detroit Pistons and get a bunch of guys who are top 10 in there positions.
